Mr. Walter Jackson “Buster” Watts, Jr.

November 7, 1953 — May 26, 2015

Walter Jackson "Buster" Watts, Jr., passed away suddenly Tuesday (May 26, 2015) due to complications of a heart attack. Buster was known as “Uncle Bubba” by his close acquaintances. Buster had a servants heart. He volunteered for many organizations such as AARP, American Red Cross, Second Harvest Food Bank, Shades of Grace homeless ministry, Indian Path Volunteers, Barter Theater, RAM, and also was instrumental in bringing R. Hero to the downtown fire department. He was a member of the Shades of Grace United Methodist Church. He was office manager of Skobys for many years and employed by Tony and Karen Barone. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter "Pete" & Ruth Watts; three brothers, Ronald, Bobby, and beloved Bill Watts. He is survived by lifelong friend and partner, William "Dub" Sumner; two loving sisters, Linda (Lonnie) Fields, and Mary Bailey; special nephew, Billy (Krista & Chance); special nieces, Stephanie (Mikey, Kaleb, & Kloe), and Nicole (Jake, Braden, & Hannah); also, Jackson, his Golden Retriever; special friends, Marilyn Kimes, Kay Watts Light, & Pat Osborne; two aunts; several cousins, and a host of friends. The family will receive friends on Thursday (May 28, 2015) at Trinity Memorial Centers Funeral Home from 5 to 7 pm. The funeral service will follow with Pastor Will Shewey and Chaplain Ron Owens officiating. Entombment will be held Friday (May 29, 2015) Washington County Memory Gardens (113 Memory Gardens Road Johnson City, TN) at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Shades of Grace homeless ministry and Second Harvest Food Bank.
