Mr. Michael Carr Quillen

April 29, 1957 — March 10, 2015

Michael Carr Quillin (Quillen) passed away peacefully on Tuesday (March 10, 2015) at the age of 57. Michael graduated from Gate City High School. He worked at Quebecor (Kingsport Press) for 28 years and was later employed with Brock Services. Michael retired from 1030th Combat Engineers. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson with his brother Dwight. Preceding him in death are his parents, Reverend Herman and Glennie Quillin; infant brother, Howard Goss Quillin; and sister-in-law, Jean Nickels. He is survived by his loving wife, Rhonda Quillin of the residence; four children, Jason Carrico, Rachel Quillen, Kristy Quillen, Michael Brandon Quillen; two stepchildren, Adrienne Duncan and Austin Steffey; five brothers, Cowell and wife Bobbie, Herman C., Jr. and Gracie, Dwight E. and wife Jennifer, Billy Joe, Larry and wife Linda Quillin; one sister, Emma Rena and husband Reverend David Penrod; three grandchildren, Malachi, Jaydyn, and Myah Carrico; and his "like a brother from another mother", Michael D. Taylor; in-laws, extended family, and many friends. The family will receive friends on Friday (March 13, 2015) at Trinity Memorial Centers Funeral Home from noon until 2 pm. The funeral service will follow with Pastor Hagan Webb officiating. A graveside service with military honors will be provided by American Legion Posts 3/265 at Oak Hill Cemetery following the funeral service at 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Disabled American Veterans #40 P.O. Box 775 Bristol, VA 24205.
