Morris Andrew Johnson

Morris Andrew Johnson, 65, of Surgoinsville, TN, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2025.

Morris was a hardworking man who dedicated 30 years as a heavy machine operator at Republic Services Carters Valley Landfill. Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, always putting his family first. He found joy in fishing with his loved ones, golfing, working on vehicles with his father and friends, and building things with his hands. His most significant accomplishments in life were marrying the love of his life, raising two daughters he was immensely proud of, and becoming a grandfather-a role he cherished deeply.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Edward Johnson and Charles Anna Johnson; his brother, Johnny Dean Johnson; and his sister, Susan Marie Ward.

Morris is survived by his beloved wife, Gail Johnson; his daughters, Christina Lynn Richards and Erma Marie Spillman, and their husbands, Robert Richards and Eric Spillman. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Brandon, Brianna, Katelyn, and Ashley; as well as extended family and dear friends who will miss him greatly.

A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Trinity Memorial Centers, 1221 Stewball Circle, Kingsport, TN. Family and friends are invited to gather from 11:00 AM until the time of service to honor and celebrate his life.
