Monica D. Smith, 37, of St. Paul, VA, passed away on July 8, 2018 at Holston Valley Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Born in Norton, VA, she was a lifelong resident of the area. She graduated from Twin Springs High School in 1998.
She is preceded in death by her father, Gary Taylor (1988); and grandmother, Carol R. Bond (2016).
Monica is survived by her mother, Rosemary Taylor (Coeburn, VA); only daughter, Erin Sierra Rose Smith, of the home; sister, Kristy Tiller and husband, JB (Coeburn, VA); two aunts; five uncles; and nephew, Ezra Tiller (Coeburn, VA).
The service will be conducted at Higher Ground Church Sandy Ridge with Pastor Billy Carty officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service, in the fellowship hall.
The family has requested for memorial contributions to be made to Higher Ground Church Sandy Ridge to help defray funeral expenses.
