---------------------------

Melburn was born in Owensboro, Kentucky, to John C. Farmer and Eula M. Farmer on December 3, 1939. He passed away at home October 14, 2024, Melburn loved the Lord his whole life and served him faithfully. He was converted at the age of 6 and received the Holy Ghost at the age of 10. He loved his family and all of God's people with a servant's heart. God's people always came first with him as the most precious and closest thing to God's heart. He was Pop-Pop to the children of the church and made sure they each had a small bag of snacks on Sunday.

Melburn was called to the ministry initially in 1960. He received another calling in 1966. He pastored three churches in three different cities, Mt Sherman, Kentucky, Owensboro, Kentucky and Kingsport, Tennessee. He was the Senior Pastor at the Words of Life Church, Kingsport, Tennessee at the time of his passing.

He was preceded in death by both parents, John & Eula Farmer, two brothers: Earl Ray Farmer & Charles Farmer, his sister, Carolyn Farmer Mitchell and his son, Ricky Lynn Farmer.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Bernice, three grandchildren, Benjamin (Rae-Jean) Roach, Nicolas Roach, and Megan Benton, and six great-grandchildren, Makenzie Roach, Carter Roach, Madison Roach, Blayde Hall, Jocelyn Benton, Olivia Benton. And by many nieces and nephews who called him "Uncle Mibby".

Celebration of Life will be held at Words of Life Church (722 Virgil Lane, Kingsport, TN) on Friday, October 25th, at 6:00 pm with Pastor Micah Bissette officiating. Graveside service will be held at Gospel of the Kingdom Campground at a later date.
