Melanie Meashel Valentine

Melanie Meashel Valentine, born on February 23, 1979, passed away on January 6, 2025, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee. At the time of her passing, she was surrounded by her beloved children and her significant other.

Melanie was the cherished daughter of Deborah and Daniel Hodge; and a devoted mother to her three sons, Jeremiah Hodge, Daniel Booker, and Riley Dickens. She is also lovingly remembered by her brother, Wendell Hodge; and her significant other, Michael Barton.

Melanie had a gift for connecting with people. Known for her warm and openhearted nature, she treated everyone she met with kindness and respect, leaving a lasting impression on all who crossed her path. Her genuine desire to help others was a defining feature of her life.

Among her many passions was caring for and riding horses-a lifelong love that brought her immense joy. This deep connection to animals reflected Melanie's nurturing spirit and added beauty to her life.

Melanie's memory will forever be cherished by those who loved her. May her legacy of compassion and kindness continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
