Ellen Casteel Shelton, 69, of Kingsport, TN went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, May 27, 2019. She was born in Big Stone Gap, VA but had been in Kingsport since she was 7 years old. She was a homemaker. Her most cherished time was loading the 1965 Nova wagon with kids and taking them to band practice at Sullivan North High School. She loved yard sales, her books, cherished her family, but most of all, she loved the Lord with all her heart.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Richard Shelton (2015); brother, Brad Casteel; and sister, Patsy Barrett.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Dustina Buckles and husband Jeff; her only grandson, who was the apple of her eye, Jakob Buckle; brother, Bill Messer and wife Barbara (Buford, GA); dear sister-in-law, Carol Messer (Royston, GA); and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at Advanced Home Health Care for their love and care. Also to Marcum’s Pharmacy for all their love and support and the fellowship at Preaching Christ Church. It was Ellen’s wish to give the gift of life and she did so by being an organ donor.
A celebration of life will be held at 5:00 PM on Sunday, June 2, 2019 at Preaching Christ Church with Pastor Chad Roberts officiating.
