Mary Robertson

Mary “Sam” Norburn Robertson, 75, of Rogersville, TN, passed away on Monday, October 3, 2022.

Born in Asheville, North Carolina, Sam attended Pellissippi State to study engineering. She was a well traveled woman who went as far as the Outback and the highlands of Scotland. She loved to pirate films and had a massive collection. She also made herbal tinctures.

Sam was a passionate and strong-willed person who was loved by many people. She was unafraid to take on new opportunities and explore the life that she wanted. She was a craftswoman and an artist and an entrepreneur that brought all of her talents to people all over to experience and enjoy. She loved to make candles and you could have always gone to her home and you would be filled with the smells of melted honey.

Sam also gave her time to the community by working for the city of Charlotte where she helped underprivileged homes become more structurally sound and safe for people to live in.

Sam has filled many people with love and joy and direction. The world is missing a beautiful person and soul.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Charles Norburn and Helen Norburn; daughter, Ashley Robertson Diaz; sister, Ann.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son Logan Robertson (Laura Campbell); grandsons Nathan Diaz, Taylor Robertson, Braeden Robertson; granddaughters Madison Diaz, Lauren Diaz, Caitlin Diaz; sister, Lillian Alexander (Max).
