Marlin Sanders Jaynes, Jr.

Marlin S. Jaynes, Jr. went to his eternal home with his precious Lord and Saviour on Tuesday, September 3, 2019. Born on November 28, 1942 in Kingsport, he devoted 59 years of his life to the ministry. He pastored churches in Missouri, Alabama, Ohio, Virginia, Illinois and Tennessee. He was serving as the Senior Pastor at Oakwood Forest Christian Church in Kingsport at the time of his going home. He is preceded in death by his father, Dr. Marlin S. Jaynes, Sr.; mother, Frances Jaynes; and brother, Clarence W. Jaynes. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Karen; and daughters, Brenda Jaynes and Marlene Jaynes. A memorial service will be held at Oakwood Forest Christian Church (1713 East Sevier Avenue, Kingsport, TN) on Saturday, September 7, 2019. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM- 3:00 PM and will be followed by the funeral at 3:00 PM. The family ask that in lieu of flowers, donations to be made in Marlins memory to Oakwood Forest Christian Church.
