Mark Duane Shipley

Mark Duane Shipley, 64, peacefully passed away on November 28, 2024, surrounded by his beloved family and friends.

A proud veteran, Mark settled in Kingsport after his service in the Army. He dedicated many years of his life to his work at the Kingsport Press, where he later retired. Mark cherished his time spent with family; he loved cooking, fishing, and enjoying leisurely drives while listening to music.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Louisa "Ann" Shipley; as well as his brother, Douglas Shipley; and brother-in-law, Buddy Buchanan.

He is survived by his devoted daughter and son-in-law, Natasha and Chance Shaw; another daughter, Lura Shipley (Cammerron Witt); his cherished granddaughters, Magnolia and Everley Shaw; his loving sister, Alisa Buchanan; along with a special niece and nephews, Dana Manor, and David and Michael Buchanan, in addition to many great-nieces and great-nephews.

A service in celebration of Mark's life will take place at 3:00 PM on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at Shades of Grace United Methodist Church, located at 313 E Sullivan St., Kingsport, TN. Family and friends are warmly invited to come together to honor and remember a life that touched many hearts and will be deeply missed.
