Mac Arthur DeZarn, 82, of Kingsport, TN, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2025.
Mac was known for his lively spirit and sense of humor, making those around him smile. A highly skilled craftsman, he took great pride in his work as a drywall contractor, contributing to large projects across the East Coast. He loved building things, a passion that extended beyond his profession and into his hobbies.
Above all, Mac cherished his family more than anything. He found the greatest joy in spending time with them, spoiling his grandchildren, and playfully doting on his daughter's dogs. He also had a talent for whittling walking sticks, a pastime that reflected his appreciation for simple, meaningful craftsmanship.
A proud Army veteran, Mac honorably served his country in Vietnam, and he carried that pride throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Edna (Delp) DeZarn; three brothers; one sister; and his great-granddaughter, Avery Rogers.
Left to treasure his memory are his daughter, Tina Rogers and her husband Steve; his daughter, Angel Gillenwater; his son, Chris DeZarn; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his brother, Ern; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Monday, March 3rd, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Trinity Memorial. Following the visitation, a procession will take place to Mountain Home National Cemetery, where Mac will receive Military Honors provided by American Legion Hammond's Post 3 / Gate City 265.
