Lucinda Bailey

April 9, 1952 — January 12, 2022

Lucinda "Cindy" Morton Clemmer Bailey, 69, of Kingsport, TN, passed away on January 12th, 2022. Cindy was born on April 9 th in Arlington, VA to Blanche "Tucker" Jones Clemmer and Lewis "Jack" Morton Clemmer. She graduated from Thomas A. Edison High School and completed some coursework in English Literature at George Mason University. Over the years, she lived in California, Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, and finally Tennessee. Cindy moved to Kingsport, TN in the early 1990s and opened Dynasty Kennels. After her retirement from the US Postal Service, Cindy worked tirelessly in the kennel providing care and love to many beloved pets over the years. Cindy was also very active in helping homeless animals in Kingsport and helped connect many humans with their fur babies. Animals always had a special place in Cindy's heart, and she would do just about anything to help an animal in need. Her love for animals was great, but her capacity to help others was also immense. Cindy gave all she could in her years and touched the lives of many. Her generous spirit shall live on through the furry, and not so furry, lives she helped. In addition to her love for animals, she was a wonderful cook and enjoyed spending time in the kitchen sharing delicious food. She was renowned for her Christmas cookies. You never left her house without a full tummy and some food to go. Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, Blanche and Lewis Clemmer; son, Joseph David Brandon Durman; and many, many beloved dogs. She is survived by her daughter, Bethany Durman; her husband, Joe Bailey; stepson, Nelson Bailey; and her two brothers, Michael Clemmer and Gerald Clemmer. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. She will forever be in their hearts and missed every day. Memorial donations may be made to Petworks Animal Services, a local organization dedicated to providing the best possible care to the lost and homeless animals of Kingsport, Tennessee (3101 East Stone Drive, Kingsport, Tennessee 37660 ; https://petworkstn.com/donate).
