Louis H. Moore, 100, died on Nov. 11th, 2018. He was born Oct., 21st, 1918 in Atlanta, GA., but grew up in Erwin, TN. He spent most of his life in Kingsport and retired from Eastman Kodak's Tennessee Eastman Company after 40 years of service in the Engineering Department. Before that Mr. Moore served in the Army Air Corps during WWII as a trainer for upcoming pilots. After the war he continued his service in the Air Force Reserves. A naturally-gifted athlete, Mr. Moore played a lot of sports throughout his life, but he specifically loved and excelled at golf. He had nine holes-in-one and was a charter member of the Meadowview Golf Club. He transferred that membership to The Crossings where he continued to play until he was 89. He was also an expert at crossword puzzles. Mr. Moore was one of 11 children. All seven boys served in the military and his older brother died in the Pacific a month before WWII ended. He was preceded in death by his first wife Margaret, five of his siblings, his parents, and most recently, Norma Taylor Moore, his wife of 40 years. Mr. Moore is survived by: two daughters - Anne Moore Rhome (husband Bob) of Springfield, VA., and Lou Moore Knight (husband Mickey) of Canton, GA.; stepchildren Sandra Taylor and Mark Taylor of Kingsport; three brothers; two sisters; two granddaughters, Brandi McAninch of Nashville and Jennifer Kindle of Kingsport; one great granddaughter, and 37 nieces and nephews. A Military Honors Ceremony will be held on Wed., Nov. 28, 2018 at 3:30 p.m. at Trinity Memorial Funeral Home. Later that day from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Trinity's Downtown Life Celebration Center (Model City Event Center, 201 E Center Street, Kingsport), the family will celebrate Mr. Moore's life at a reception where his favorite wine will be served.
