Lois Marcella Lee Ramey Burgess

Lois Marcella Lee Burgess, 82, of Kingsport, TN passed peacefully from this earth at 7:30 am Monday, November 2, 2015 with her loving daughter by her side. Lois was a long time resident of Kingsport, TN, where she had resided since leaving her childhood home in West Dante, Virginia at the age of 13. She graduated from Dobyns Bennett High School in 1951 and from Whitney Business College in 1973, where she received an Associate Degree in Accounting and Bookkeeping. She went on to work for several local businesses, as well as managing and helping maintain the Rosetree Trailer Park, which she co-owned with her husband. She loved to travel, read, and spend time with her family. She was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Beecher Burgess; three sisters, Viola Ramey, Bureta Ramey and Ruth Richie; and two brothers, John Ramey and Paul Ramey. Surviving are her daughter, Brenda Bowery of Kingsport, TN; one sister, Mae Rosenbalm and daughters, Debbie Winstead and Teresa Rosenbalm; two grandsons, Shane Vaughn and wife, Lulu Vaughn of Gray, TN and Jason Bowery and wife, Holly Bowery of Blountville, TN; five great grandchildren, Sarah Vaughn, Daniel Vaughn, Landon Vaughn, Kelton Bowery and Brooklyn Bowery; two step great grandchildren, Megan Faust and Hannah Boyd. In lieu of flowers, monetary donations may be sent to Brenda Bowery (1401 Rosetree Lane, Kingsport, TN 37660) in memory of Lois Burgess. The visitation of friends and family will be held Thursday, November 05, 2015 from 1-2 pm at Trinity Memorial Centers Funeral Home.
