Lisa Kay Richards

August 29, 1969 — August 17, 2014

Lisa Kay Richards, 44, went to rest with the angels on Sunday (August 17) peacefully at her residence. She was born in Kingsport, Tn. She was a mother to all, and knew absolutely no strangers. (From the son, Aaron) My mother would scream out my name with what little breath she had when I would go on the field or the court. It made me blush, and packed more butterflies into my stomach. I always told her to stop because it embarrassed me, but secretly, I loved it. I could always hear her raspy scream over everyone, that let me know that she was watching and so proud of me. I also think of all the times she took up for me, even when I messed up, lost, or forgot something. She was like my Batman, and I was Gotham. She would always protect me no matter how bad I was. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Carolyn Porter; and brother, Gary Porter She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Richards; son, Aaron Richards; two brothers, Greg and wife Ginger Porter, and John Wendell Porter; nieces, Ashley, Chloe and Emily; nephews, Jared and Trenton. The family would like to thank Matt and Sandra Price, Pat Davis, Melissa and Mike Dimech, Ronnie and Tammy Jackson, Wako and Wendy Fields, Renee Roach, Lesley and Stacy Lawson, Tim Dykes, and all of the Sullivan South community. The family will receive friends at Trinity Memorial Centers chapel Thursday (August 28) from 3 to 4:30 p.m. The funeral service will follow with Tim Dykes, and Pastor Kelly Dykes officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to 244 Slaughter St. Kingsport, Tn. 37664. Trinity Memorial Centers Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Lisa Kay Richards.
