Linda Moore Taylor

November 16, 1939 — December 2, 2015

Linda Moore Taylor Our beautiful and loving mother went to her heavenly home Wednesday evening, December 2, 2015. Mom was the purist definition of what a mother should be to her children and for that, we will be forever grateful. Mom, you did an amazing job raising us and while we will miss you, we take comfort in knowing we will all be together again someday. Mom was born a coal miner's daughter in Clinchco, Virginia on November 16, 1939. She was a graduate of Clintwood High School in 1958 and retired from Food City after several years of service. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Braxton Pilkenton; her mother and father, Willard and Muriel Moore; her brothers, Bill and Ray (Karo); two sisters, Doris Sykes and Louise McMeans; and her loving daughter, Pam Ferguson. Surviving are her boys, Tim Pilkenton and wife, Yvonne, Aaron Pilkenton and wife, Jackie, Daren Pilkenton and wife, Kim, Dean Taylor and wife, Lou, Jason Taylor and wife, Traci, and Jon Taylor and wife, Leah. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and former husband, Bob Taylor. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 5, 2015 from 10 AM to 12 PM at Trinity Memorial Centers Funeral Home in Kingsport, TN. A celebration of Mom's life will follow the visitation. Brother Dan Dolen and nephew-in-law, Scott Mullins, will lead the service. Special music will be provided by Mom's favorite bluegrass gospel group, DownPour. Per mom's request, graveside services will be private. Memorial contributions can be made to Niswonger Children's Hospital (400 N State of Franklin Road, Johnson City, TN 37604). Burial: Temple Hill in Castlewood, Virginia Trinity Memorial Centers Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Ms. Taylor.
