Linda (Mitzi) Marie Mallory-Combs, 62, of Kingsport, TN, left this world on Sunday, March 3, 2024, after a brief battle with lung cancer. The Lord was not going to let her suffer long before calling her home.
Mitzi retired doing the one thing she loved to do, being a CNA at Holston Valley and different rehabilitation centers taking care of the elderly. She always gave one hundred percent in life, work, and to others. The last 15 years of her life she struggled quite a lot, but she was a survivor. Her loved ones know she is looking down on them with love and pride. She would tell them not to shed a sad tear, but to be happy that she is free and at peace.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charlotte and Rev. Maxwell Mallory; her siblings, Donna Denton, Samuel Mallory, Mark (Paps) Mallory; her nephew, Waylon Sturgill; brothers in law, Dwight Bright, Jerry Sturgill, and Howard Lowe; and the love of her life, Bill Jennings.
Surviving and Cherishing Mitzi's memories are daughter, Misty (Joey) Gillenwater; her son, Jerry Lynn (Sachia) Sloan; her four beautiful grandchildren, Peyton, Preston, Preslie, and Price; her sister and best friend, Rebecca Mallory (Mark) White, Darlene Lowe, Marlene Bright, and Debra Sturgill; her brother, Allen (Judy) Mallory.
A Celebration of life will be held at Shades of Grace in Kingsport, Tennessee. Dates and times will be announced in the near future and made available as soon as they are made.
The family would like to thank their dear friend, Amy Gillenwater, for helping them care and love on Mitzi. Linda Goff was an angel that appeared in the family's life. She opened her door and showed them that there were true friends and kindness and still love in the world.
Any time you walk into the bright sunshine, look up in the sky, and smile, because Mitzi's love is shining on you.
Trinity Memorial Centers Funeral Home (423-723-8177) is honored to serve the family.
