Linda "Sissy" Houchins, 72, of Kingsport, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 9, 2025.
Linda was known for her vibrant personality, sharp wit, and big heart. Outgoing and full of life, she had a deep love for the outdoors-especially fishing, which was her favorite pastime. Whether it was casting a line or enjoying time with loved ones, she found joy in the simple pleasures and in the company of family and friends.
She was proud of her family and treasured every moment spent with them. Quick with a comeback and always ready with a joke, Linda's "smarty pants" humor kept everyone on their toes and smiling. She was a lifelong hard worker, dedicating most of her career to delivery driving for companies like Advance Auto, the Kingsport Times-News, and Waste Management. She loved the independence of the job and took great pride in her work.
She was a die hard Vols fan. Her spirited nature, strong work ethic, and love for her family will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Virginia Houchins, and her brother, John Houchins.
Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Sandra Spears (Gary); nephews, Jason Houchins (Heather), Stephanie McClellan (Greg), and Jon Ferguson (Madison); one brother; several great-nieces and nephews; nephew, Mike Houchins (Jen); and a host of extended family and close friends.
At Linda's request, there will be no formal services at this time.
