Leroy Sage

Leroy Sage (63) of Kingsport, TN, passed away February 13, 2024, at Holston Valley Medical Center.

Leroy was born in Kingsport, TN, and graduated from Church Hill High School. He was a retired carpenter. He loved playing guitar and had played in several local bands in the area as a young man. His favorite band was Lynyrd Skynyrd. He loved playing their music for everyone to enjoy.

Leroy was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents (that raised him), Lloyd and Elzie Sage; dad, Roy Sage; uncles, Bill and Aurthur Sage; aunts, Dorothy Sandidge and Edith Patterson.

Leroy is survived by his daughters, Jolin (Dwayne) Calhoun and Jennifer (Robert) Schaub; brother, Ron (Alethia) Sage; sisters, Connie (Rick) Bates and Denise Turner; grandchildren, Hope and Kevin Calhoun, Madison and Brooke Schaub; Mother of his children, Sandra Wolking; grandchildren, to whom he was "Papaw," Jaicee Bryant, Jayden Bryant, Justice Bryant and Jalissa Bryant;
Uncle Bobby (Martha) Sage, a niece, several nephews, and several cousins.

A special service for immediate family was held at Trinity Memorial Centers , at 1 PM on Monday, February 19, 2024, followed by a graveside committal service at 2 PM at Depew's Chapel Cemetery, Kingsport, TN. Pastor Todd Haley officiated. Pallbearers were selected from family and friends.
