Larry Junior Horner is resting peacefully in God's home today. Larry passed away at Mountain Home V.A. Community Living Center on September 20, 2018. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Kyle and Dora Leons Collins Horner; and brother, David. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen; brother, Sammy Kyle Horner and wife, Mary Ann; sister, Dora Ann Parker and husband Jim; companions and therapy cats, Mr. Lucky and Midnight; several nieces and nephews; and family by love, Jimmie Wayne Bowers and wife Linda, Mike Bowers and Tammy Pratt, Patty DeBusk and husband Allen, Janet Bowling and husband Sanford, Angie Fritz and husband Buddy, Dean Short and wife Patty. Visitation will be held at Trinity Memorial Centers Funeral Home on Sunday, September 23, 2018 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The funeral service will follow with Pastor Mike Owens and Mike Bowers officiating. Military graveside service will be held on Monday, September 24, 2018 at 10:45 AM at Mountain Home National Cemetery with American Legion Hammond Post #3, Kingsport, TN and Post #265, Gate City, VA providing the rites. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at Trinity Memorial Centers Funeral at 9:45 AM to go in procession. The family would like to say a special thank you to all of the doctors and nurses at the Mountain Home V.A. Medical Center, V.A. Community Living Center, and to Avalon Hospice for the care they gave Larry and to Trinity Memorial Centers Funeral Home for their help.
