Kathy E. Fletcher

Katherine “Kathy” Elizabeth Fletcher, age 67, of Church Hill, TN, passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at Holston Valley Hospital after a short battle with cancer. 

Kathy was born May 18, 1957, in Kingsport, TN, the daughter of the late Claymon and Annis Rimer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Rick Rimer; brothers-in-law, Johnny Christian and Mickey Larkins; and niece, Shannon Cavin.

Kathy was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved to cook; you never left her house without something good to eat. She had a way of making everyone feel welcome. She enjoyed reading. The thing she enjoyed most was spending time with her grandchildren. For those who knew her, caregiving was more than just a calling; it was her passion, and she cared for all her clients as if they were family. She was a beautiful, giving soul.

Survivors include her loving husband of 31 years, Gale Fletcher; daughter, Kayley (Andrew) Ford; son, Steven (Dakota) Fletcher; grandson, Jordan Ford; granddaughters, Ava and Olivia Ford-whom she loved dearly; her brothers, Mike (Amy) Rimer, Steve Rimer, Mark Rimer, Jonathan Rimer, and Matthew (Amy) Rimer; her sisters, Susan Christian, Carol Rimer, Christine (Rodney) Johnson, Lorie (Kevin) Nye, and Amy Larkins; sisters-in-law, Darlene Rimer and Cathy Powell; her best friend, Edithann Wadewitz; and several nieces and nephews.

The family invites you to a celebration of Kathy's life on Sunday, October 27, 2024, from 4-6pm at The Press Room, 300 Clinchfield St. Kingsport, Tenn. This will be a time to share memories and celebrate the life of a remarkable woman.
