Kathryn Rose Taylor

Kathryn Rose Taylor, 65, of Burlington NC passed into Heaven on Monday, June 19, 2017. Kathy was born July 16, 1951 in Kingsport, Tn. to the late Henry Paris and Bessie Kathleen (Fields) Taylor of Scott County, Va. She was preceded in death by the father of her children, Sammy K. Barnett, twin sister Carolyn Taylor, sister Dana Light, and two grandchildren Thomas and Renee'. She graduated East Tennessee State University and worked as a Registered Nurse. She was of the Baptist faith. She was an avid NASCAR fan with Dale Earnhardt being her favorite driver. She enjoyed Atlanta Braves Baseball. Kathy was always full of life and many memories were made between her nieces and nephews about spending the summer with Kathy, playing Yahtzee and Monopoly all night. Later, her children and grandchildren became her life. She loved Country Music, especially Kenny Rogers and Garth Brooks. Survivors include two daughters, Kimberly Barnett Willard and Samantha and husband Gordon Fortner of Burlington, eight Grandchildren Candy and Logan Gallimore, Alec and Samuel Willard, Kerina Byington, Sabrina Smith, Destin and Phoenix Fortner as well as five great grandchildren. Brothers Herman Taylor and wife Judy of Weber City, Charlie Taylor and wife Geraldine, Duffield. Sisters Mary Sims, Weber City and Pauline Gates and husband Joe of Palm Coast, Florida, and a very special Brother-in-Law Gary R. Taylor, Church Hill. Several nieces and nephews. The family welcomes you to the Memorial Services that will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 30, 2017 at Trinity Memorial Center, Kingsport, with Charlie Taylor officiating. Music will be provided by Michael Taylor.
