Judy Lynn Wood, age 81, of Kingsport, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 11, 2024. Her family and friends remember her as a dedicated worker, a loving mother, and a kindhearted soul who always put others before herself.

Judy's career was a testament to her hard work and resilience. She began her professional journey as a factory worker at a sewing company in Wytheville, Virginia, where her meticulous attention to detail set her apart. Later, she took on a leadership role as a manager for Kayo Oil Co. at its Stateline, Virginia, location. Her strong work ethic and natural ability to lead earned her the respect of colleagues and customers alike.

Her entrepreneurial spirit shined brightest when she joined her daughter, Kelly, in running a successful janitorial business, Commercial Cleaning Services. Together, they built a business rooted in trust, quality, and community. Judy's final professional endeavor was with Rental Uniform in Kingsport, Tennessee, where she continued to exemplify the values of dedication and dependability.

She preceded in death by her husband, Dennis L. Wood; her parents, Gordon Maynard Hill and Mattie Kate Hughes; sister, Leticia Ann Grubb; niece, Neena Grubb-Fleenor; her nephew, Aaron (Butch) Eugene Grubb; and son-in-law, Richard S. (Rick) Ogden.

Those left to cherish Judy's memory are her daughters, Kelly J. Boyle-Ogden and Cassandra D. Boyle-Mallory (Mark Bright); grandchildren, Christopher Alan Marsh, Caitlyn S. E. Marsh-Braden (Harrison); nephew, Johnny Lynn Grubb (Carolyn); and several cousins. She also leaves behind her cherished dogs, Sugar and Miss Beasley and granddog, Tinker.

A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.

The family would like send a special thank you to the staff Amedisys Hospice for their care and compassion, and her NP, Matthew Wood.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to The American Cancer Society, PetWorks, and Sullivan County Animal Shelter, and The Alzheimer's Foundation.
