Juanita Helen McClellan

Juanita G. (Nitsie) McClellan, 86, of Kingsport, TN, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2025.

Nitsie was born on March 30th, 1938 in Arcola, Virginia to John & Helen Grimes. She married her best friend and love of her life, Henry D. (Cotton) McClellan. They had one daughter, born in Leesburg, Virginia. They moved to Pompano Beach, Florida, where they had six more children. They moved to Kingsport, Tennessee in 1974, where she has resided ever since.

Nitsie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cotton; her two daughters, Sharon and Terri; one son, Bo; a granddaughter, Sharon; and a grandson, Henry.

Those left to cherish Nitsie's memory are her three daughters, Donna (Allen), Tarra (Tim), and Shelia (Rusty), and one son, Sean (Jennifer), all of Kingsport; and her brother, Pete Grimes of North Carolina. She has 13 grandchildren, many of whom she was a mother to: Elizabeth, Becky, B.J., Erik, Heath, Allen, Adam, Emma, Anna, T.C. (Wendy), Sarah, and John Henry. Nitsie was also a mother to her great-granddaughter and sidekick, Maddie, and her children, Everett, and Carter. She has many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Nitsie also leaves behind her fur baby, Sophie.

Services for Nitsie will be Tuesday, March 4th, 2025, receiving family and friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. A funeral service will follow, officiated by Pastor Randy Powers and Brian McClellan.
