Joseph Anthony St. Angelo Jr.

Joseph A. St. Angelo Jr., age 77, of Chuckey, TN, died at the Mountain Home VA Hospital on Wednesday, August 21, 2024. He was born on October 11, 1946, at Newton Memorial Hospital Newton New Jersey.

Joseph was the loving husband to Irene Peterson St. Angelo for over 55 years. He has two sons, Joseph James St. Angelo of Chuckey, TN, and Michael Anthony (wife Kelly) St. Angelo of Aiken, SC; a grandson, Anthony St. Angelo and a granddaughter, Alysha St. Angelo, both of Aiken, SC.

He received his Associates Degree in Occupational Studies in May 1992, and a one year certificate in Fire Protection Technology in August 1992. He was a volunteer EMT and Firefighter for the Town of Van Etten, NY for over 25 years.

He owned his own construction company for several years in NY, and worked in every area of construction most of his life.

He also was an insurance claims adjuster for Travelers Insurance Co. in NY. After retiring he moved to Chuckey, TN where he enjoyed building his home and many other buildings on the property, he also lived his childhood dream to raise goats, and hay the fields as his grandfather did many years ago.

Joseph's love was serving others in so many different ways throughout his life, and he was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Greeneville, TN for over 10 years.

Joseph is preceded in death by his father, Joseph A. St. Angelo Sr., and his mother, Beulah Geraldine McMickle St. Angelo; and his sister, Faith M. Calhoun.

There will be a graveside memorial ceremony at the Mountain Home National Cemetery in Johnson City, TN on Friday, August 30, 2024 at 2:00PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org <http://www.alz.org>) or the ALPS Adult Day Services (www.alpsadultdayservices.com <http://www.alpsadultdayservices.com>) are appreciated.
