Joseph Randall Henley, age 72, of Bristol, Virginia, passed away on October 10th, 2023, surrounded by his family.
Joseph, known as Randy, was born to J.W. and Ruth Henley on July 29, 1951 in Bristol, VA. He attended Tennessee High School. He served in the United States Air Force, was a member of the Country Tradition Band, and was employed as a food sales professional for 27 years and 20 years at Bristol Regional Medical Center.
Randy is survived by his wife of 41 years, Denna; children, Christina Crutchfield and husband Eric, Jody Mondrage and husband Jason; grandchildren, Breana Crutchfield, Erica Crutchfield, and Bryce Mondrage; sister, Sandra Booher and husband Pete, Sheila Belcher and husband Jack; brother, John Henley and wife Kristi; several special sisters and brothers-in-law.
Randy was predeceased by his parents, J.W. and Ruth Henley; sister, Amy Buckles.
Randy held many titles in his life, from coworker to friend, but his favorite roles were husband, dad, and papaw. He loved nothing more than spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was always there cheering them on. His warm and genuine smile will be treasured in our memories forever. He did not know a stranger. He will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor can be made to the Bristol Hospice House.
Graveside service will be held at Mountain Home National Cemetery on Friday, October 13th, at 10:00 a.m. with military honors provided by American Legion Hammonds Post 3/Gate City 265.
