John Robert Langford
1942 - 2025
John Robert Langford, 82, of Kingsport, TN, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 9, 2025.
Born in Pulaski, Kentucky, John was the proud son of John Benjamin Langford and Gladys Louise Fitch, who preceded him in death.
John served his country with honor in the United States Air Force and carried that same sense of duty and pride into all aspects of his life. His faith in God was central to who he was, and he lived out his beliefs with a quiet yet steadfast devotion. A passionate volunteer at Shades of Grace UMC, John found joy in helping others and was deeply committed to the ministry's mission.
Known for his gentle nature and servant's heart, John was a beloved patriarch of the Langford family. He worked tirelessly to keep his family connected, organizing reunions and maintaining meticulous ancestry records that will be treasured for generations.
John loved photography, the outdoors, and classic cars, passions that reflected his appreciation for beauty and nostalgia.
He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Michaela Langford; his sons, Kevin Langford and wife Jenny, David Langford, Michael Langford, and Matthew Langford and Allison Stapleton; his daughter, Kelli Renee Eagle and husband Richard; step-daughter, Summer Elaine Voss; and his cherished grandchildren: Ethan Mills, Jillian Langford, Addison Langford, Caden Eagle, Elisa Eagle, John Kent Langford, John Tucker Langford, Tristan Langford, Jonathan Michael Langford Jr., Jace Malachi Langford, Layla Grace Mills, and Jensen Mack Langford, Brianna Nicole Ellis, Kaylee McClenny, Lauren Clarke; and several great grandchildren; He is also survived by his brother, J.B. Langford, and sister, Judy Spears.
Funeral services will be held at Shades of Grace United Methodist Church on Tuesday January 21st at 12:00 with Pastor Will Shewey officiating. Graveside services, including military honors provided by American Legion Hammond's Post 3 / Gate City 265, will follow at Mountain Home National Cemetery.
