John Douglas Boothe

John Douglas Boothe, 75, of Jonesborough, TN, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2022.
Born in Tazewell County, Virginia, John (JD) proudly served in the US Army in Vietnam. After returning to southwest Virginia, JD worked as a coal miner and raised two daughters, Angela and Rhonda. JD was an active man - boxing, wrestling, fishing, playing football and racquetball.
Those left to mourn JD's passing include his daughters, Angela Garland and Rhonda (Dan) Hubbard; grandchildren, Garrett Hubbard, Jessee (Jordan) Grubb, Seth Garland; great-granddaughter, Aspen Grubb; mother of his children, Joyce Boothe; brother, Jack Boothe; sister, Sheila (Junior) Johnson.
An interment service will be held at 10 AM, Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at Mountain Home National Cemetery, Veterans Way, Johnson City, Tennessee. Military honors to be provided by American Legion Post 3/265.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in John's name to the Boone Dam VFW Post 4933.
