John David Farris

August 28, 1957 — October 2, 2021

John David Farris, 64, of Kingsport, TN, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Saturday, October 2nd, 2021. David was born in Dayton, Ohio in 1957. He was a graduate of Sullivan Central High School class of 1976. David has loved music since he was a child this love for music was a bond he shared with many friends and his family. David was blessed with the ability to play music and was self-taught (Harmonica and Percussion). He was in several bands throughout the years including most recently Celebration Church Worship Band. Although music was his passion, his heart belonged to his grandchild and daughter whom he loved dearly. David was preceded in death by his father, John Daniel Farris. Left to cherish his memories is his daughter, Morgan Morrell and husband Chance; grandchild, Ainsley; mother, Ann Farris; previous wife and dear friend, Stacie Cloyd. Visitation will be held on Sunday the 10th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Celebration Church (Blountville, TN). A Life Celebration will follow at 4:00 pm with Pastor Robert Russell officiating. The family would like to thank special friends Tim Loy, Enzo Monno, Dr. David Merrill, Matt Varnum, and many others for their friendship, support, and care during this time. We would also like to thank Amedisys Hospice for the care they gave during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Niswonger Children's Hospital, St. Jude, or the American Cancer Society.
