Joen Kyle Serena

Joen Kyle Serena, 35, of Kingsport, TN, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2024.

Joen had a deep passion for the outdoors and embraced every opportunity to "rough it" in nature. Whether he was camping, fishing, or cooking in unique, old-fashioned ways, Joen found joy in the simplicity of life. He had a genuine love for cooking and was always eager to feed and nurture those around him. His curiosity and desire to learn were evident in his countless hours spent on YouTube, mastering new skills and techniques for his various tinkering projects.

Above all, Joen was a devoted father, who cherished every moment spent with his son, Gabriel. His love for being a dad extended to his close friends, where he naturally took on the role of a big brother and father figure, offering guidance, support, and care.

Joen was preceded in death by his father, Charles James Kibble "Jimmy," and his mother, Deborah Anne Poovey.

He is survived by his loving wife, Ashleigh Horne, and their son, Gabriel Horne. He also leaves behind his sisters, Catherine Lynne and Nicole Sullivan, as well as many dear friends who became like family.

A memorial service will be held for friends and family at Shades of Grace Church in Kingsport, Tennessee on Monday, August 19th, 2024 at 3 p.m.
