Jeremy Lee Hughes

October 1, 1971 — April 30, 2024

Erwin, TN

Jeremy Lee Hughes passed into his Heavenly Home on April 30th, 2024 after a long illness.

He was born October 1st, 1971 to Phillip Gary Hughes and Jo Ellen Edwards Hughes. Jeremy was baptized by Dr. Grant Jones of Unaka Avenue Baprist Church in Johnson City, TN on July 21, 1985. Jeremy lived overseas in Dhahran ,Saudi Arabia during some of his elementary years. He loved riding his motorcycle over the sand dunes, racing his BMX bikes, playing ball and traveling abroad. When he returned back in the states he attended Science Hill High School, and ETSU in Johnson City. Later he married Kelly McCool and had a beautiful daughter named Rheagen.

Jeremy worked offshore in the Gulf of Mexico later in life where he met his second wife Angela Vidito. He loved the outdoors, hiking, fishing in the gulf, snow skiing, flying planes (both real and simulated), photography, his telescope and anything computer oriented.

Jeremy went through some radical changes in his spiritual walk toward the end of his life. He renewed his relationship with his savior, Jesus Christ and began reading his Bible every day. Although we are heartbroken at loosing him, our family is blessed to know Jeremy is in a much better place and free of his long term health issues; and we know we will see him again.

For The Lord is God, and his mercy endures forever. Psalm 100:5

I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish, no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father who has given them to me, is greater than all: no one can snatch them out of my Fathers hand; I and the Father are one. John 10: 28-30

Jeremy was preceded in death by his father, Phillip Gary Hughes; paternal grandparents, Lindsey and Edolene Hughes; maternal grandparents, Briscoe and June Edwards all of Erwin, Tennessee.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Rhegen Leigh Hughes Buck ( (Brandon) of Johnson City; mother, Jo Ellen Miller of Pensacola, FL; step father, Gary Miller of Erwin, TN; Aunt Nina Hyder (Ronnie); uncle John Mark Hughes (Karen); and several cousins, all of Erwin, Tennessee.
