Jeffery Neil Hooven

August 7, 1971 — January 12, 2021

Jeffery Neil Hooven, 49 of Mount Carmel, TN went to be with The Lord on Tuesday, January 12th, 2021 at Holston Valley Medical Center after a brief illness. Jeff was born in Kingsport, Tennessee on August 7th, 1971. He was a lifelong resident of Mount Carmel, Tennessee and was a graduate of Volunteer Highschool. He was employed by the City of Kingsport where he worked for the Public Works Department. Jeff was of Baptist Faith. He enjoyed spending time with his two sons, Adam and Connor, whom he loved unwaveringly. He enjoyed playing video games, watching football in particular the Dallas Cowboys and Tennessee Volunteers. Jeff was preceded in death by his father, James Edmond Hooven also of Mount Carmel. Jeff is survived by his mother, Marslean; two sons, Adam Hooven, Adams fiance Becca Singleton and Connor Hooven; two brothers and sister-in-laws Randy, Connie, Ed and Lisa Hooven along with several nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins. The family would like to thank all of the nurse staff and doctors that worked with Jeff. We are forever grateful for the care you gave Jeff. The family will be having a graveside service on Thursday, January 21st, 2021 at 11:30 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Kingsport, TN. The service is open to all family and friends that would like to pay their respects to Jeff. Anyone wishing to attend may meet at Trinity at 10:15am and follow in procession to the graveside. Pallbearers will be Roddy Miller, Travis Chappell, Brett McPheron, Judd Moore, Tyler Mullins, Matthew Mitchell, Denny Linkous, and Aaron Whitten. In case of inclement weather, we will hold the ceremony in the mausoleum hall and then take to the graveside. We ask that face masks be worn and CDC guidelines followed. Trinity Memorial Centers Funeral Home (423-723-8177) is honored to serve the Hooven family.
