Jasper Howington

Jasper “Jay” William Howington, 72, of Kingsport, TN, passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2020. Jay was a self employed carpenter for most of his life and loved his craft. He loved to hunt, fish, and spend time with his grandbabies. Jay loved his family more than anything. He was lucky enough to meet the love of his life at 35 and was married to her for 38 wonderful years. Jay was a protector and provider for all those he loved. He is preceded in death by his parents Henry and Angie Howington; 3 sisters, Patricia Lovelace, Henrietta Downs, and Peggy Kiser. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Sheila Howington; son Arthur Howington; Daughters Carrie Walton, Leanna Howington, and Rachel (Mark) Bell; sisters Priscilla Thombs and Margaret Raines; brothers Henry and James “Jim” Howington; 11 grandchildren; one great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews who loved him very much. A celebration of life will be held privately by the family on December 17th, 2020. The family would like to send a special thank you to Amedysis Hospice of Kingsport, Tennessee.
