Janice A. Turner McReynolds, 84, of Bristol, VA, went to visit the Lord on Sunday, May 12, 2024.

Born a coal miner's daughter, Janice was the epitome of resilience and dedication. She spent over 30 years as a devoted military wife, supporting her husband through the Vietnam War and numerous deployments. Janice's selflessness shone through as she cared for her family for over 60 years, dedicating herself wholeheartedly to her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Janice was known for her unwavering devotion to her family, including her two children, three grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Her headstrong and hardworking nature made her a pillar of strength for all who knew her. She was admired for her kindness, never harboring ill will towards anyone.

Her family fondly remembers her for her legendary sweet tea and her quick wit-especially the times she reached for a switch or wooden spoon, a sure sign it was time to run!

Janice was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald E. Turner; her children, Donald E. Turner Jr. (Dink) and Donna Renee Kenney; her grandson, Corey Funderburke; her parents, Roy and Ruby McReynolds; her sisters, Helen Adams and Claire Mae Hall; and her brothers, Don Mac and Roy Douglas (Doug) McReynolds.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Bradley Turner and his wife Kelly of Auburn, GA; Malisa Kenney of Bristol, VA; and Wesley Turner of Kennesaw, GA. Her great-grandchildren, whom she affectionately called her babies-Joey, Kyra, Grace (Gracie), Jasmine, Dakota (Koty), Raegan, and Wyatt-will miss her dearly. Janice also leaves behind several nieces and nephews who cherished her deeply.

Janice's legacy of love for her family and her strength (and her sweet tea!) will continue to live on in the hearts of family and friends.
