James "Jim" Vincel Baker

March 7, 1941 — December 6, 2018

James (Jim) Vincel Baker, age 77, of Kingsport, Tn. passed away early Thursday morning, December 6, 2018, at Holston Manor Nursing Home. Jim was born in Keokee, Virginia and had lived in Big Stone Gap until he moved to Kingsport, Tn. Jim was a graduate of Powell Valley High School. He served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era. Jim loved to fish, Loved sports, was an avid Braves fan and Kingsport Mets fan. Jim retired from Mason Dixon where he was a dock worker. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Earl Baker and Audrey Calton Baker. Brothers, Ray Snodgrass, Shug Snodgrass, and Keith Snodgrass. Son In Law, Gary Wild and grandson, Adam Wild. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Susan Jones Baker. Daughters, Tammy Wild, of Kingsport, TN. Gaye Gibson and husband, Randall, of Weber City, VA., Tracey Pierson and husband William, Diane Baker and husband Vance. Special Granddaughter, April Carter and husband Corey, and their son, Liam, Megham Thomas and husband, Brent, and their daughter, Aviana, Priscilla Wild and Jamie Wilson, Christi Stout and husband, Shawn, and their daughters, Shae and Taylor, Christina Lane and husband Derick, and their daughter, Taylor. Matthew Pierson and wife Keli, and their child, Aaron Pierson. Special friend, Tony Barrett, several nieces and nephews. Military graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Monday, December 17, 2018 at Mountain Home National Cemetery with military honors provided by American Legion Hammond Post #3 and Gate City Post #265 officiating Trinity Memorial Centers, 1221 Stewball Circle, Kingsport, TN. 37660. Trinity Memorial Centers is honored to serve the Baker family.
