James Franklin Keen

James Franklin Keen, age 58, of Glade Springs, Virginia, went to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Saturday, November 23, 2019, at Bristol Regional Medical Center. James was born in Grundy, Virginia, he had been in Glade Springs for the last 32 years. He attended Mountain Mission School and worked for Bristol Compressors. He worked through Goodwill industries and Feeding America of Southwest Virginia in Abingdon, Virginia at the time of his death. He loved rock and roll music but he so much more loved playing with his grandchildren. He was a kind and gentle soul and he love to serve others. He will be greatly missed James is preceded in death by his parents, alter and Essie Price Keen. Brother, Mitchell Price, Sister, Linda Gail Hurley. He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Petina Keen, of the home. Children, Pamela Walters and husband, Jonathan, of Chilhowie, VA. Brian Goff, of Glade Springs, VA, Sarah Robinett and husband Dwayne, of Phelps, KY., and Rebecca Duty, of Hurley, VA., Grandchildren, Jonathan Brian Goff, Dalton Goff, Courtney Walters, Caitlyn Walters, Tiffany Cline, Dwayne "Little Man" Robinett, Michael Duty, Gabriel Duty, Arista Duty, Malayla Duty, Chloe Duty. Siblings, Larry and Roberta Keen of Maryville, TN. Donna and Bruce Mounts of Hurley, VA, Evelyn Vance of Grundy, VA,. Judy Mullins, of Anne Arbor, MI., Ernie and Donna Keen of Mohowk, WV., Debbie Fontannaz of Pensacola, FL., Eddie Retournard of Richmond, CA., Several Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins. The family of James Franklin Keen will have a Celebration of Life on Sunday, December 1, 2019, at Washington Springs Church, 36215 Washington Springs Road, Glade Springs Rd., Glade Springs, VA. 34340. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M., with services to follow at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Larry Lusk officiating. Any flowers sent should be sent to the church.
