James Edgar Acord

James Edgar Acord Jr., 32 years old of Kingsport, TN, passed away on June 13th, 2023, from an illness and brain aneurysm. He loved working for Titan Telecom. He enjoyed traveling to different places to build cell phone towers. He might have complained about the long hours, but he loved the companionship of coworkers after the workday was done. He was very proud of how the job site looked after completion. He told stories of what they did while hanging out with one another. He loved life and was always laughing and making others laugh.
He also enjoyed his time in the Job Corps at Flatwoods in Cobern, VA, where he accomplished getting his GED and welding and forest fires programs.
James was always a happy-go-lucky, loving-life kind of guy. He loved singing Rod Stewart Maggie May at karaoke. He was very good at it. He touched so many lives for the better. He will be in our hearts forever and greatly missed by many.

He was preceded in death by; paternal grandparents, William Sr. and Shirley Acord; maternal grandparents, Donald and Hilda Roer; aunt, Nellie Cook; and his uncle, William Acord Jr (Junebug), all of Williamson, WV.

He leaves behind many; his son, Zane Lomely of Yorktown, VA; his father, James Acord Sr of Williamson, WV; mother, Dana Gromley and step father David Gromley; sister, Hilda Clark of Kingsport, TN; brother, Morris Acord of Umatilla, FL; nieces, Kiara Wheat and Paisly Sexias; half brothers and half sisters, lots of aunts and uncles and cousins on both sides. and many, many friends.

Visitation is scheduled on Friday June 16th, from 5pm until 7 pm. Services will follow on Saturday June 17th, 2pm at Trinity Memorial Center of Kingsport, TN.
