James Colby Moore

James Colby Moore, 74, of Kingsport, TN, passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2024.

A dedicated diesel mechanic for 47 years until his retirement at age 65, James had a passion for working on small engines and anything mechanical. Known for his reserved personality with a knack for cutting up, he was always ready to help anyone in need. James was a friend to everyone and deeply adored his family. His bond with his brother Bobby was unbreakable, and he cherished his dear friends, Francis Jennings, Lee Morelock, and Teresa Laney.

James was preceded in death by his parents, George Carson Moore and Mary Ellen Benton-Moore; brothers, Beaufort Moore and Paul Moore; and sister, Margaret Moore.

He is survived by a son and three daughters, fifteen grandkids, and twenty five great grandkids; and his brother, Bobby Moore and wife Peggy.

A visitation for friends and family will be held at Trinity Memorial Centers on Wednesday, June 26th, 2024, from 5-6 pm, with a memorial service to follow, officiated by Reverend Joe Hill. The family is requesting no one wear colognes or perfumes as they are sensitive.
