James Buford "Cubby" Culbertson, 78, passed away Saturday (January 3, 2015) at Holston Valley Medical Center. He was the son to the late Lonnie and Juanita Culbertson. He was an avid gun collector and the owner of Cubby Gun Pawn Shop. He is preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Culbertson; parents, Lonnie and Juanita Culbertson; and sister, Elizabeth Clark. He is survived by his two loving sons, James Buford Culbertson, Jr. and Jeffrey Wayne and wife Kimberly Ann Culbertson; four grandchildren, Tiffany Culbertson Brooks, Austin Culbertson, Michelle Culbertson McMurray, and Eric Culbertson; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Kyle Culbertson; three sisters, Phyllis and husband Larry Taylor, Judy and husband Arley Partin, and Evelyn and husband Wayne Samples; very special friends Mars Hawkins, James and Larry Taylor, Everette Bledsoe, and James Worley; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Thursday (January 8, 2015) from noon to 2 p.m. at Trinity Memorial Centers Funeral Home Chapel (1221 Stewball Circle). The funeral service will follow with Reverend Wayne Baker officiating. A committal service will be held at 3 p.m. at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jeff Culbertson, James Culbertson, Austin Culbertson, Eric Culbertson, Larry Taylor, and Everette Bledsoe. Honary pallbearers will be Mars Hawkins and James Worley.
