Irene M. Ford

Irene M. Ford of Kingsport passed away in her home on November 26th, 2017 after a long illness. Irene is the daughter of the late James A. and Lou Melton. Irene was a 1956 graduate of Lynn View High School and lived most of her life in Kingsport. Soon after graduating high school Irene moved to San Diego, California for several years before returning to the mountains of East Tennessee she called home. Irene will be missed by her many family and friends. She was an avid reader, loved to decorate the home, worked on her crochet and needlepoint, had a joy for cooking and most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren. They were truly the rays of sunshine within her life. She is preceded in death by her parents, James A. and Lou Melton. She is survived by her husband, James (J.E.) Ford of Kingsport, TN; son, Michael J. Ford of Kingsport, TN; brother, James A. Melton and wife Bernice; grandson, James M. Ford of Nashville, TN; granddaughter, Malise J. Ford of Kingsport, TN; nephews, Scott Melton, Chris Light and wife Katy; nieces, Patty Smith and husband Eddie, Kimberly Shriver and husband Todd Kelly Ford. Private burial service will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery. Trinity Memorial Centers Funeral Home (423-723-8177) is honored to serve the family.
