Hugh Ronnie Snodgrass

January 18, 1938 — September 7, 2023

Hugh Ronnie Snodgrass, age 85, of Blountville, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, September 7, 2023, peacefully at home with his daughters near his side. He was the widower of Mollie Joann (McFarland) Snodgrass. They shared 63 years of marriage. As a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and uncle, Ronnie was always a caring, strong, and selfless presence.

Born in Big Stone Gap, Virginia; he was the son of John H. and Ina Mae (Hughes) Snodgrass. He graduated from Appalachia High School, and he attended Clinch Valley College. He served in the United States Marine Corps at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. He worked as Head Fireman at the Mead Paper Company (Domtar) in Kingsport, Tennessee for over 35 years.

Ronnie is survived by his daughters, Cindy Snodgrass and Trina (Snodgrass) Calhoun and her husband Terry; a granddaughter, Mackie (Carr) Calhoun and her husband Jesse; and a great granddaughter, Mackina Calhoun. He is also survived by his brother, Billy Joe Snodgrass; his sisters, Joyce Lackey and Mary Ruth Laster; and several dear nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, JH and Ina Mae Snodgrass; his brothers, JB, Edwin, Allen, and Merle Snodgrass; and his sisters, Canzada Sneed, Helen Anderson, and Betty Vaughan.

Ronnie's family will be hold private burial services. A Celebration in honor of his life will be held on September 24th, at 2:00 PM at the Country Cabin. (6034 Kent Junction Road, Norton, Virginia) All wishing to attend are welcome.
