Herman Milton Whitaker

Herman Milton Whitaker, 80, went to be with the Lord on Monday (November 10, 2014) at Bristol Hospice House with his family by his side. He enjoyed spending his time doing mechanic work, and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Payne; daughter, Ellen Mae Whitaker; and son, Norman Anthony Whitaker. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Ernestine Whitaker of the home; four children, Herman Milton, Jr. and wife Nicole Whitaker, of Bristol; Sylvia and husband David Goodson, of Bristol; Sonya and husband Jason Young, of Bristol; Norris and wife Mary Whitaker, of Bristol; sixteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and special friend, Diane Holbrook. The family will receive friends on Thursday (November 13, 2014) at First Church of God (301 Georgia Ave Bristol, Tn.) from 1 to 3 p.m. The funeral service will follow with Pastor Dwight Marlow officiating. Interment will be at Sunrise Cemetery in Bluff City following the funeral service. Pallbearers will be William Hillard, Billy Hillard, Bradley Hillard, Josh Cross, Tommy Jo Reeves, and Shane Lady. Honorary pallbearers will be Wes Cross, Justine Cross, and Curtis Reeves. The family would like to extent a special thanks to Wellmont Bristol Hospice House and Vickie Buck.
