Henry Preston Terry, age 90 (Lifelong resident) of Bristol, Virginia was promoted to Glory on Wednesday, October 28, 2020. Henry retired from Carquest Auto Parts where he worked in the warehouse and delivered auto parts. Henry served in the United States Army. He served in the Korea, Germany and the US as a Sergeant. He received the Korean Service Medal, two Bronze stars, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. After serving in the United States Army Henry was employed with Raytheon, Asco Warehouse and Carquest Bristol Tennessee and Virginia. Henry truly enjoyed life, hunting, fishing, gardening, working on old cars, lawnmowers and anything else he could fix. Henry cherished his family exceedingly. Left to cherish his memories are his son Steve Terry, daughter-in law Naomi Terry, brother Charlie Terry, granddaughter Merissa Terry, grandson Steven Andrew Terry and his wife Jessica Terry and his great grandchildren. Henry will be laid to rest at the Veterans National Cemetery along with his wife Allene Denton Terry who passed away the same day October 28, 2020 two (2hrs) apart. A family burial service for Henry will be held at the Veterans National Cemetery, Johnson City, Tennessee on Tuesday November 10, 2020 at 11am. The family wants to recognize the Staff of NHC of Johnson City, Tennessee for the excellent care of Henry. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children Hospital.
