Grady Musick

February 05, 1952 - December 25, 2017

Grady Wade Musick age 65 of Kingsport, TN passed away suddenly surrounded by his loving family on December 25, 2017.

Grady was born on February 5, 1952 in Bristol, Virginia to the late Grady Musick and Minnie Jean Richardson Musick Hobbs. Grady is a 1970 class graduate of Wetumpka, AL where he was number 62 on the football team. Following graduation Grady enlisted in to the United States Air Force where he served in Germany twice, Louisiana, and Arkansas and then retired in 1991 after serving 20 years from the Patrick Air Force Base. In his younger years he coached Little League Baseball, Pee Wee Football and was on a bowling league. During his spare time, he was an avid fisherman, loved to go hunting, watch Jeff Gordon number 24 race on Sundays. On Saturdays during football season you would see him with his family and friends supporting Alabama Football “Roll Tide.” His biggest passion in life was making sure someone always got a good laugh.

In addition to his parents Grady is preceded in death by his step-father, William Albert Hobbs; sister, Reba Hobbs and granddaughter, Reba Lynn Hobbs.

Grady is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Candy Lynn Bateman-Musick; daughter, Evelyn Jean Musick – Vickers; son, Grady Wade Musick II; daughter-in-law, Sheila Kay Carrier; grandchildren, Robert Allen Musick, Kaylee Ann Clark, Heaven Lee, Bella Star, Grady Daniel, Annalynn Mary, Everly Angel and Vanessa Kay Musick; sister, Sally Mae Davidson; brothers, William “Bimbo” Hobbs, Andy Hobbs, and Joe Hobbs. Also surviving Grady is a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation will be Friday, December 29, 2017 from 9:30am – 11:30am at Trinity Memorial Funeral Home in Kingsport, TN will funeral service following at 11:30am with Pastor Johnny Mink officiating. Interment will follow at 1:45pm Friday at Mountain Home Cemetery in Johnson City with Full Military honors.
