Ginger Mellons Tipton

Ginger Mellons Tipton, age 70, of Kingsport, TN, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at Holston Valley Medical Center after a long illness.

Born on July 27, 1954, to the late Ralph and Jackie Mellons, Ginger was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 20 years, Charlie Tipton; her sister, Peggy Lane; her stepdaughter, Reva Tipton; and her step-grandson, Austin Gillenwater.

Ginger was deeply devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren, who brought her great joy. She had a passion for traveling, having explored destinations such as Hawaii, Graceland, Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and Wyoming. Ginger also found fulfillment in supporting her sons' sporting activities and being present for their adventures.

A faithful member of Orebank Missionary Baptist Church for over 50 years, Ginger's commitment to her faith and community was unwavering. At family gatherings, she was always found near her favorite spot-the dessert table, where her sweet tooth was a playful hallmark of her personality.

Her grandson, Phoenix, was the light of her life, and she cherished every moment they shared together. Ginger's warm heart and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her two sons, Brian Tipton and Brett Tipton; her cherished grandchildren, Phoenix Tipton and Keegan Tipton; her stepchildren, Bobby Tipton (Linda) and Kwan Tipton; step-grandchildren, Chris Tipton, Matt Tipton, and Dustin Robinson; and two great-stepgrandchildren, Thomas Robinson and Mia Robinson. She also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends.
