Kingsport, TN - Gerald Thomas Malone, 86, of Kingsport, was called to his eternal home in heaven with his Lord and Savior, Thursday, February 27, 2020. Born July 21, 1933, Gerald served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1959 and in the United States Army Reserves from 1959 to 1964. Gerald was a member of Beulah Baptist Church and served as a deacon since 1988. Gerald retired after working for Holston Army Ammunition Plant for 30 years. Gerald married his loving wife, Georgia Mae Coffman, on March 3, 1956. Gerald enjoyed his time as a member of the Renaissance Center in Kingsport, and he cherished the friendships he made there. Gerald loved to fish, garden and travel. Gerald and Georgia have traveled to all 50 states and to several countries around the world. Gerald is preceded in death by his parents, Viola and Frank Malone; sisters, Zella Smith, Shug Worley and Margaret Neal. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Georgia Coffman Malone; his brother, Alden Malone and wife Barbara; his daughters, Amy and husband Chuck Bailey, Penny and husband Jimmy Fuller; his grandchildren, Christina and husband Zaccarie Campbell, Courtney Bailey, Jack Fuller and Madeline Fuller; his two great grandchildren, Kayleigh Campbell and Liam Campbell. The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:30 pm on Sunday, March 1, 2020 at Trinity Memorial Centers Funeral Home (1221 Stewball Circle, Kingsport, TN 37660). A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 4:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Beulah Baptist Church or the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center.
