Gary Blankenship

Gary Blankenship, 50, passed away at his home on Saturday, March 05, 2016. Gary was raised in Grundy, VA and moved to Kingsport, TN in 2000. He attended Free Gift Gospel Mission Church. He loved the outdoors, fishing, camping, and especially grilling out for family get-togethers. Gary was a great father, a loving and loyal husband, and a friend to many. The outdoors is where he also liked to work, live, and enjoy the company of friends. He leaves behind his faithful pet, Koda, who waits for him to come home. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Hazel Blankenship; and brother, Johnny Blankenship. He is survived by his loving wife, Angel Blankenship; sons, Robert Pruitt, David Pruitt, Patrick Blankenship and Branden Pruitt; grandchildren, Isaiah, Malachi, Seth, Elijah, Aliyah, and AJ; brothers, Ronnie, Robert, Billy, Mark Blankenship, and Timmy Cox; sisters, Hazel Elizabeth Hall-Cline, Betty Cole, and Lisa Blankenship; several nieces and nephews; and his faithful pet, Koda. A visitation will be held for family and friends on Friday, March 11, 2016 from 6-8pm at Trinity Memorial Centers Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 8pm with Pastor Vern Hall officiating. Graveside will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 10am at Depews Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his sons, Robert, Patrick, David, Branden and friends.
