Freda Joy Short

Freda Joy Short, 64, of Kingsport, TN went to be with her Savior on Saturday, May 9, 2020. Freda was born in Kingsport and attended Sullivan West High. She worked for Sullivan County schools for over 20 years, mostly at Colonial Heights Middle School. Freda was of the Holiness faith and attended Way Home Holiness Church. She is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Alan “Mike” Short Sr.; son, Christopher Scott Short; and parents, Hershel and Maggie Blakley. Those left to cherish her memories are her 2 sons, Eddie and wife Kim Short, and Mack Short; stepson, Alan M. Short Jr.; grandchildren, Shyann, Malachi, Cristian, and Chelsea, who she cherished dearly; sister, Fonda and husband Charles Mowdy; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 from 6-8 PM at Trinity Memorial Centers with the service to follow at 8 PM. Pastor Charles Mowdy will be officiating. Graveside will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at East Lawn Cemetery at 3 PM. Trinity Memorial Centers Funeral Home (423-723-8177) is honored to be serving the family.
