Frances Aileen Lankston Acton

August 1, 1924 — August 8, 2016

Frances Aileen Lankston Acton was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 08, 2016. Frances was born on August 01, 1924 in Perks, Pulaski County, Illinois. Frances loved her Savior very much and received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost at the age of 13 in Evansville, IN in 1937 under the ministry of Rev. William Sowders. She was an encourager to all who knew her. She especially loved music and helped many learn how to play the piano. Frances was the song leader and piano player for Gospel Kingdom Church in Louisville, KY for 30 years under Rev. James Sowders and Rev. Clarence Rader. She was a member of the Gospel Fellowship Church in Kingsport for the last 8 years of her life. She was a true blessing in the church where she would seek out the new folks to welcome them and make them feel at home. She continued to move out in the Lord even when she had to use a walker. She testified and praised the Lord proving that old age does not prevent a person from serving the Lord. She was often the first person to move out into the aisle at church to walk for her Lord. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl Ralph Lankston and Daisy Bell Hoffner Lankston; grandparents, Henry Daniel Miles Hoffner, Mary Ann Turner Sutliff Hoffner, Wiley Frank Lankston and Della Mae Wesley Lankston; sister, Ruth Eileen Crosser Street; brother, Leroy Winore Lankston; and daughter-in-law, Joann Acton. She is survived by her three children, Roger Carl Acton, Bernice Acton Farmer (Melburn) and David Lee Acton (Belinda); grandchildren, Ricky Lynn Farmer (Stephanie), Jenny Seeley (Nick) and Casey Lusk (Justin); nephew, Curtiss C. Crosser (Deb); eight great grandchildren; and many more cousins and friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 12:00 PM at Gospel Fellowship Church (722 Virgil Lane, Kingsport, TN) with Rev. Jesse Urbano officiating. A second memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at 7:00 PM at Gospel Kingdom Church (4746 Cane Run Road, Louisville, KY) with Rev. Jesse Urbano officiating. A private burial will be held on August 19, 2016 at Gospel Kingdom Campground Cemetery (Shepherdsville, KY). Trinity Memorial Centers Funeral Home (423-723-8177) is honored to serve the family.
