It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Florence Griffith, 92, who departed this life on July 20th, 2024, after a beautifully lived life full of love, laughter, and resilience. She touched the lives of all who knew her.
Florence was born in 1932 in Kingsport, TN. She graduated from nursing school as an LPN and dedicated her career to mental health and nursing home care until she retired at the age of 62.
She was a devoted mother and friend, known for her kindness, generosity, and love for all homeless people.
Florence is survived by her three children: two daughters, Beverly Weiss and Melinda Griffith, and one son, Mitchell Griffith, and his wife, Cynthia. She also considered Cynthia's brother, Mark Kull, like a son.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Odra and Rufus Busic, and her loving husband of 60 years, Archie Griffith.
We extend a special thank you to Dr. Nunley and all the staff at ETSU Physicians for their compassionate care during Mom's illness. We also express our gratitude to everyone at Ballad Hospice.
She will be deeply missed but forever in our hearts.
